History

SYED ALI AHMAD SHAH was born in the Delhi in 19th century. He was popularly known as SYED FAQIR ULLAH SHAH. In 1906, he become a well-known Hakeem practitioner of his time and establish Shahzain Dawakhana (a place to serve mankind) where he use to treat patients with different skin diseases specially VITILIGO and LEPROSY.  Following the family traditions, his son Hakeem Salman Ali Shah popularly known as 'Ali Shah Sarkar', started working on father’s footsteps and his endless efforts gained SHAHZAIN national and international reputation in no time. Due to the popularity of Shahzain Herbal system of medicines, Ali Shah Sarkar brought the dynamism of a new age to the philosophy and operations of Shahzain. The setting up of modern laboratories and subjecting the various drugs to laboratory tests brought the Herbal system of medicines on modern scientific lines for the first time. As a result, not only Shahzain became a premier pharmaceutical house with a nationalistic inspiration and a totally indigenous base, but it also emerged as a mission to serve the society at larger scale.

Shahzain Dawakhana

Hakeem SYED ALI AHMAD SHAH Established Shahzain Dawakhana at Baddomalhi in 1906. The Dawakhana soon gained a high reputation throughout the city as the finest supplier of herbs. In 1920 acquired the status of one of the popular pharmacies. After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, Hakim Sahib established Shahzain Herbal International in Lahore on a modest scale. In 1980, Shahzain turned into pharmaceutical company, Hakim Syed Salman Ali established “SYED FAQIR ULLAH SHAH TRUST (Registered)”. He donated 15-Acre land for a hospital named “SYED ALI AHMAD SHAH HOSPITAL” at Darga-e-Alia Baddomalhi for the purpose to serve humanity in a better way.
